Using Free Resources To Make Money Online

Achieving financial success through affiliate marketing is one of the most rewarding experiences an aspiring internet marketer can have. The biggest benefit of affiliate marketing is that just about anyone can do it and make a handsome income.

Affiliate marketing is a cost-efficient, accessible method of attaining long-term wealth. And, you can start with a shoe string budget or no investment whatsoever. Affiliate marketing is also very attractive because you have the pleasure of working from home and the benefit of being your own boss.

However, the majority of affiliate marketers fail because they lack the knowledge and skills necessary to generate valuable traffic. Knowing which affiliate programs to promote and how to drive traffic to your venture are two of the most basic and important principles of affiliate marketing, and yet these are the areas where most are lacking.

Affiliate networks are an ideal place to start looking for a product. There are many popular affiliate networks, and one or two that really stand out. The largest and most popular program in the industry is Clickbank. You can easily obtain a free account and begin promoting products. Simply visit their marketplace and pick a popular product in the area of your choice.

Sounds easy, right? Well, there's a little more to it than that. In order to make money, you'll need to facilitate a sale of the product you are promoting. This is where most people hit a brick wall. Unfortunately, it doesn't have to be that way

There are several free tools available to you to promote your chosen products. These fall under the Web 2.0 category. Web 2.0 is a relatively new internet concept and it involves websites that publish user based content. In other words, if you have some writing ability you'll be able to publish articles on Web 2.0 sites. In your articles you can include links to the products you are promoting and with some luck, your readers will click over to the site and purchase the product.

Most Web 2.0 sites and article directories don't allow direct links to affiliate sales pages, and one of the most popular ways to circumvent this is to start a blog. There are several wonderful free blogging platforms available to pick from. You'll need to write 5-10 articles (preferably 400-600 words) to publish on your blog, and two of them should be detailed reviews of the product you are promoting.

After you've published your blog, you can begin to submit content to some Web 2.0 sites. Of course, you'll need to include a few links to the review articles on your blog. This is how you get around direct linking to your affiliate pages. You'll soon see that providing a review is a much better way to approach product promotion, because it builds a sense of trust between you and your readers.

The main tip that I can offer is to publish dynamic and interesting content to lots of Web 2.0 sites. Research your articles and provide answers to problems. If your content is lacking, chances are a reader won't click through to your blog. If that doesn't happen, you have little or no chance of making a sale. Also, don't promote too many products. Two solid products is plenty. You should also start a separate blog for each product. If they are related subjects, you can promote from the same blog.

The main thing to remember is that success won't happen overnight. You'll need to make a solid and continuous effort and more importantly, a time commitment. If you are persistent and have patience, you'll be making sales before you know it. Once you get your first affiliate check, you'll know it was all worth it.
