Painless Ways To Get Online

So you're you've heard about everybody and their brother getting online and you'd like to get in on the action? You want to go beyond reading other people's content, and would like to write your own? Well, you're in luck. There's never been an easier time to get online. Self publishing has never been quicker, simpler, or cheaper. And in this article, I'll show you a couple of quick and easy ways to get started. The quickest way is to post content on pages that other people have already set up. There are many sites, just like the one you are on now, where anybody can post content, as long as it passes certain criteria. This way is quick and easy, and you'll get an online presence pretty quickly. When you or somebody else (like a potential employer) searches for your name, they'll find it. If you don't like the idea of sharing the same web site with hundreds or even thousands of other authors, then you can move up to the next level. The next step is to start your own blog on any of the free blogging platforms out there. Wordpress and Blogger a couple of the more popular ones. All you need is a free account, and you can start writing. Some people choose their own names, or something that's interesting to them. Once your page is up and running, you can post whatever you like. Pictures, movies, short blurbs about where you ate for dinner last night. The next step is to get your own domain. This is a lot easier than it used to be. The first step is to buy the actual domain. This will cost you about ten bucks per year. You can choose whatever domain name you'd like providing it hasn't been taken by somebody else. Usually a variation of your own name is good to get started. Next you'll need to choose a host. There are some pretty good ones out there. Many people like Hostgator. They are pretty reasonably priced, usually about ten bucks a month or so, and have pretty good customer service. Now that you've got your own domain, and you've chosen a hosting service, it's time to build your site. There are plenty of free software programs that will help you. Wordpress is probably the most popular. It's an open source free system that is pretty easy to use. You can install it through your hosting service. They will show you how. You can also find plenty of tutorials on YouTube showing you how to use Wordpress. Once you're up and running (which should take about ten minutes), you can publish anything and everything you want. No rules, no limits. You can create whatever site you want, however you want. Have fun.
