EVE Online Newbie Guide - Tips from a Legendary EVE Player

When you first start on in EVE Online you want to make sure everything you do will some how benefit your character later in the game. You never want a bad choice early in your characters life to end up hurting you months down the road. This is why everyone new to EVE Online needs to listen up and pay attention. When you first start EVE Online the first tutorial you go through is a must finish. It teaches you the very basics which can really help you in the game. Not everyone is a master at EVE Online so learning something new won't slow you down that much.

The next thing you should plan on doing is playing it safe and joining an established corporation. Every starting player has this dream of being a pirate and starting up his or her own corporation and smashing everyone. This simply cannot be done in EVE Online when you start out, it's something that can be done over time. Apply to one of the start corporations and learn everything you can from the leaders, they are there for a reason. Once you feel that you have learned everything possible from them, which takes 2-3 months, then head out on your own and join a player ran corporation.

Next you should consider what you want to accomplish in EVE Online. Do you want to be an engineer, miner, or hunt down pirates? This is something you have to think of before you get to far into the game. You start to develop your character very early and you want all the choices you make to be the right ones. Don't just learn skills to have them, make sure you are going to use them at some point, and that they will help your character advance in the direction you want.
