Low Carb Diets Do They Work
Low Carb Diets Do They Work

I am one of those people who will try anything at least once. I did try the low carb diet myself. I had the same question as you, low carb diets, do they work? There are several varieties of them. I think the most famous would be the Atkins diet. The Atkins diet is good for weight loss. There are several stages. At first there are virtually no carbs at all on the diet. But you can eat bacon and butter! At first it was so novel to eat this way that it was easy to stay on. As a matter of fact, I stayed on it for over 8 months. But due to my lack of literacy skills I never went past the first level of Dr Atkins' diet. He slowly introduces carbs in your diet. I must have blanked out after a few chapters.

The next low carb sensation would have to be the South Beach Diet. Once again the first part of the diet does consist of little or no carbs. I havent tried this one. If anyone has, please feel free to comment at the end of this article. I'd like to hear your feedback on this.

I don't think that there is much wrong with eating lean meats and vegetables. But I would over-indulge in bacon or very fatty meats and very high cholesterol condiments. There is something wrong with eating that much fat and thinking you can get away with it. I think it does have repercussions health wise and I wouldn't advise eating that way. The good thing about the diet, though, is it does what it promises in fast weight loss. I lost over 40 lbs in appx 6 months. I looked way slimmer than I actually weighed which was also a plus.

The problem I had with it was only after the fact. I gained back the weight and more over a short amount of time. When you tell someone not to do something, all they can think about is doing the very thing you told them not to do. This was my case. I had to have sushi or pasta. That's all I could think about and now you can see why it didn't work for me. Low carb diets, do they work? I would have to say yes but only for a short period of time.

For the long haul, you really need a more well-rounded, healthy diet that will never leave you hungry or wanting for food. You need something you can keep up for the rest of your life. Want to have healthy, fast weight loss? Find out more FREE information by clicking here!
