Keeping Your Clothes Clean This Summer

Throughout the spring and summer months we all get our sports kits out to go biking, hiking, playing football and generally enjoying the great outdoors! If you've got kids in particular your washing basket will be overflowing with mud splattered, dirt streaked, grass stained laundry. That's all well and good if you have the capacity to deal with such a lot of laundry, but is your washing machine up to the task?

Some appliances such as Indesit washing machines come with programmes dedicated to washing very dirty clothes. On Indesit washing machines this comes under the sports intensive programme which can bust grime from even the most mud caked clothes - we're talking rugby and cross country kits here!

How does the sports intensive wash on Indesit washing machines work?

The sports intensive programme washes a 3kg load at 30 degrees for 75 minutes. The cycle doesn't use high temperatures which is great for preserving the colours of rugby kits - especially as they can often be striped white and red or white and blue - which can run quite easily into each other if washed at high temperatures.

Other programmes available on Indesit washing machines

Indesit washing machines are fantastic appliances for the summer months with their special programmes.

Sports light is a gentle programme especially designed to preserve clothes containing lycra. From swimming costumes to yoga suits and general gym wear, this programme will keep your lightweight sports clothes pristine, without stretching. Because nobody appreciates a misshapen swimming costume! So when you get home from the pool or beach, simply put your family's swimsuits in the washing machine and place on a sports light wash.

The sports light programme runs with a 3kg load, at 30 degrees, and takes less than an hour to complete.

This summer as we've all put on our new white trainers and canvas shoes, only to muddy them up and cover them in grass stains, you'll be pleased to find out about Indesit's special shoes programme. This programme is the only one of its kind and it uses centrifugal force to push the shoes to the sides of the drums to prevent them bashing against each other - damaging the shoes and the drum itself. The drum tumbles in just one direction, again to prevent damage to the shoes and the appliance.

The special shoes programme will wash two pairs of shoes at once at 30 degrees in just 50 minutes.
