Hail to the chiefNew England Trade's Gary Oshry named president of National Association Of Trade Exchanges

The NATE conference held an additional honor for Oshry as he was awarded the Distinguished Service award. Other honorees included Sharon Connelly, Exchange Enterprises (Connecticut);

Maurya Lane, Barter Business Exchange (North Carolina); RachelTaylor Hooper, Alamo Barter (Texas).

"It's quite an honor to be named president of NATE's board of directors and to receive the Distinguished Service award," said Oshry. "NATE is the premier barter association in the world. As president, I hope to do my part in continuing to enhance the value of NATE's offerings for its members."

NATE members enjoy a wide range of benefits, including:

Barter currency NATE members are eligible to use BANC (Barter Association National Currency) currency. This provides a common and credible barter currency, allowing independent barter exchanges to do business with each other, without the need for back-to-back reciprocal trading.

Accreditation - The NATE Certified Trade Broker (CTB) Program has been designed to challenge the staff of trade exchanges to strive for the highest level of service to their clients and ensures the continued growth and expansion of the barter industry.

Education - Professional educational programming at regional seminars and annual conventions nationwide. NATE members are kept abreast of the latest tax laws and regulations affecting the barter industry.

Prospecting - Members obtain new clients from NATE's lead-sharing program. Leads generated by national press releases are sent to all members in good standing to pursue.

Profitability - NATE members profit from reciprocal trade relationships with the most successful barter companies in the country. NATE members do more than $5 million annually in reciprocal trades.

A longtime NATE member, New England Trade is the region's oldest trade/barter organization with three decades of experience in helping helping businesses move products and services. And with its sister company, Cape Cod Trade, based in Hyannis, Massachusetts, New England Trade is also the region's largest barter/trade organization.

In a bartering organization like New England Trade, members have access to the products and services of all the members. So, the plumber can do work for the CPA on barter, but can then choose to "spend" the bartering dollars he's accrued on another product or service offered by other members. Like use of an ocean-side condo for a week.

"In this economy, organized trade organizations like New England Trade have helped many businesses stay afloat. Besides members utilizing the skills of other members, a bartering organization is an excellent way to add to your existing customer base," said Oshry. "
