Christmas Gift Hampers - Some Of The Ingredients That You Should Include

A Telehandler is a type of forklift that has extended lifting capabilities. A telehandler has however got different capabilities than a forklift. Read on to find out how. Telehandlers are also called telescopic handlers.

The build

Telehandlers resemble the construction of a crane more than they do forklifts. The reason behind this is actually very simple. A crane like resemblance to the build allows this heavy duty machine to manoeuvre itself much more easily than if it were to resemble a forklift. The crane like design also makes it more versatile. A telehandler is used extensively in the industrial and agricultural segments and their main use is to reach out and pick up goods and lift them to a greater height than a forklift.

The area of major functioning

All tele handlers have one very basic function that they are used for. They are used to move things around when they need to be moved forward and upwards. Just the fact that this piece of heavy machinery can do this makes a lot of jobs simpler on site unlike the old days where every single task was performed by a different machine.

Add-ons

It is a very common feature for a telehandler operator to add on different attachments at the boom end of the machine. These attachments could be in the form of a palate fork, muck grab, bucket or a lift table. The palate fork is the most common attachment as it can be used for multiple purposes. It can even be used to access and move cargo from places that are difficult to access by a regular forklift. This is especially useful when it comes to performing jobs that have tight time constraints. The other attachments are used extensively in the field of agriculture.

Adaptation and customisations

The need for this type of machine is only growing. This is not surprising given the fact that it is extremely convenient as it can perform most moving and lifting tasks at any given site. In fact tele handlers have now become such a necessity that most manufacturers even offer versions of it that are customised and can be adapted according to the customers requirements. These modifications are created to allow for more efficiency in the functioning of the machine as well as the operator. A classic example of this is movement of the cab from the front to the side of the boom.
