Molds are taken of the teeth in these procedures so a dental crown can be made to cover the tooth. Since the lab has to make this crown, the patient will have to return for a second visit when the crown is fitted and cemented in place.
Anyone with small gaps between their teeth, chips in their teeth, or cracked teeth can benefit from tooth bonding. This restoration procedure is also very effective for patients who have discolored teeth, teeth of varying lengths, tooth decay, and even gum recession.
Tooth bonding is very strong and will produce a lasting outcome. It will definitely improve how your teeth look and function. However, if you smoke, keep in mind that cosmetic dental resin is porous and can be stained by cigarette smoke very easily.
