Monsoon season is one of the most dramatic times to visit the South Rim of the Grand Canyon. Huge thunderheads, cool temperatures, and incredible lightning strikes make an incredible backdrop. It's a photographer's dream, as many professional and amateur photographers get some amazing shots. Thunderstorms are brief but powerful, producing lightning and flash floods. Pay attention to your surroundings, and, if a thunderstorm is afoot, seek shelter.
