Parents Does Your Child Want To Play The Drum Set?

Do you have one of those children who constantly taps on things and they have enough energy to be their own solar panel? Do you constantly hear the tap tap tap of the pads from Rock Band or Guitar Hero drum pads? Well we could start a support group Im sure, but I am actually here to encourage you to give your child a chance to play the drum set. There is no doubt that a child wildly banging on a set of drums is one of the most obnoxious things any of us will ever hear. But since kids have more energy than they will ever know what to do with, the great challenge is to channel it constructively. My parents found it within their hearts to let me play the drums growing up and it literally changed my life. I have taught hundreds kids and I know for a fact that it can change MANY kids lives. I have been teaching music in private and public school for over 17 years. Over that time I have taught drums to a girl with a Cochlear implant, kids with autism, kids with aggressive defiant disorder and many kids of all shapes and sizes. Drums are primal. Playing rhythms with your own hands is primal. If we can find a way to give kids a chance on the drums without it driving someone crazy, now we have a special opportunity. I have certainly heard parents many times say We are not having that noise in our house. I totally understand that emotion. I always think is there a basement or garage or special room somewhere that the drum set could be set up? Sometimes there is, sometimes there isnt. There are pads available to put on real drums that bring the volume way down. Couple this strategy with the special room strategy and you have a winner. The bottom line is that you never know how much a part or not a part of a childs life a drum set will be. They could quit after one lesson or go on to spend their whole lives playing. But giving them a chanceah.there you go. Please feel free to email me and ask any further questions or just get my free ebooks: Drum Set Magicand Drum Lines For Kids.
