Polo Is The Hen Party Activity Of Choice For Brides-to-be This Summer

Hen parties from across the East Riding and beyond are flocking to East Yorkshire to try their hand at polo as brides-to-be look for increasingly novel ways to celebrate their impending nuptials.

White Rose Polo at North Cliffe near Market Weighton has found that its Summit Polo School is taking more and more bookings from groups of women looking for a fun alternative to more typical hen party options, such as city breaks and spa weekends.

Claudia Weiler, director of the Summit Polo School, explained: We first started taking hen party bookings a couple of years ago, but in the past few months weve been taking more and more. Were hosting several hen parties in the coming weeks and months. I think brides-to-be are looking for something a little more unique and fun these days, and a polo hen party fits the bill nicely. What could be more fun than getting out in the fresh air in the beautiful East Riding countryside with a group of your closest friends and giving polo in Yorkshire a try?

Were happy to tailor the polo sessions around the hen partys requirements, providing everything from champagne and chocolate-dipped strawberries to a picnic lunch, and even personalized rosettes or T-shirts.

Hen parties can choose from a range of different options, but polo taster sessions typically involve learning to hold the mallet and strike the ball on Woody, the clubs wooden horse, before quickly progressing onto one of its highly trained polo ponies. Before the the end of the session, participants will be equipped with the basic skills needed to take part in a fun and informal chukka or two of polo.

Claudia added: You dont need any previous riding experience, so its a really inclusive hen party activity and we guarantee that our hens will have a fantastic time with us.
