Breast Cancer: "The Curse of Mankind"

As the name suggests, breast cancer is indeed a curse! Previously only women were observed affected by this disease. But in recent years, it has been found that some men are also falling prey to breast cancer. The disease is generally seen among mature women in the age group of 50 years and above. Every year, many women become victim of breast cancer, which ultimately leads to their death.

Medical science has not yet reached the root of this disease. However, during recent years our scientists and experts in related fields are continuously progressing in the fight against breast cancer. Today, you can find many options in the treatment of breast cancer and can opt according to the stage and requirements of the disease.

Let's talk about the stages of breast cancer. The disease can be divided into many stages according to the symptoms and the nature of occurrence. The size of the tumor inside the breast also plays an important role in deciding the stage of the disease. The different stages can be described into three parts as follows:

Early stage - The early stage of breast cancer can be subdivided into three sub-stages:

1. Stage 0 - in this stage, there is no evidence of cancer cells breaking through the normal tissue.

2. Stage I - in this stage, the cancer cells are seen breaking through or invading the neighboring tissue and in this stage the tumor size can measure up to 2 cm.

3. Stage II - in this stage, the tumor can measure between 2cm and 5cm, and the cancer may be starting to spread into the lymph nodes under the arm on the same side of the body as the cancer.

Lower stage - The lower stage of breast cancer is also divided into sub-stages:

1. Stage III A - in this stage, the tumor measures more than 5cm and the cancer has spread through the lymph nodes and the nodes are sticking to the surrounding tissues.

2. Stage III B - in this stage, a tumor of any size has started spreading in the breast skin, or lymph nodes. This stage also includes inflammatory breast cancer.

Advanced Stage - The advanced stage, known as stage IV, is the most critical stage of breast cancer, where the tumor spreads beyond the breast, underarm, and internal mammary lymph nodes. The tumor can also spread to lungs, liver, bones or the brain, ultimately leading to death.

So, let's talk about the symptoms and diagnosis of breast cancer. There are many symptoms of breast cancer:

- Inverted nipple

- Nipple discharge

- Nipple rash

- Cysts

- Breast pain

If any of the above symptoms are observed, the person should immediately consult a doctor and should discuss available treatment. The best treatment of breast cancer is the early detection of the disease. However, today you can choose from many different therapies, such as surgery, radiotherapy, tomoxifen drug, chemotherapy, etc. Early detection can easily rid you of this terrible disease, and can even prevent it from occurring in the near future.
