The Role Of Kids' Bible Curriculum In The Christian Faith

There is perhaps no document or writing that is more important to a Christian than the Bible. It represents the words and teachings of God through the prophets. It is a tool to teach people the way to become true Christians and to be truly closer to God. It also chronicles the life of Jesus Christ as well as his teachings.

It is of common knowledge that the best way to teach a person is to start when he is still very young. Ideas scan be better embedded in us if they have been presented to us and are being practiced starting from an early age. What we are at present is a creation of what we learned and experience in the early stages of our lives.

The same fact is also true when it comes to teaching religion. In order to become good Christians in the future, Christian values are being taught to children at a very young age. This is the role that kids' bible curriculum program plays.

Through this program, the teachings in the Bible are being gradually introduced to children. It is being presented to them in a way that is very easy and fun to understand. The Bible is stripped down to its very essence in a sense that theological and more technical aspects of it are being done away with so that it can be better appreciated by children.
The Role Of Kids' Bible Curriculum In The Christian Faith

The Bible is essentially divided into two parts: the Old Testament and the New Testament. The Old Testament which is written originally in Hebrew and Aramaic, is the original sacred writing of the Jewish people. Aside from being religious in character, it is also characterized by a strong sense of history. So much so that the old laws and exhortations were incorporated into it. On the other hand, the main focus of the New Testament is Jesus Christ. The principal theme is the character of Jesus as the savior, the son of God, and the son of man.

Similarly, the kids' bible curriculum program is also separated into two parts, the Old Testament curriculum and the New Testament curriculum. The Old Testament curriculum includes teachings starting from the Creation Story, the story of Adam and Eve, Cain and Abel, and Abraham and Isaac. It also includes the story of Moses, the freedom of the Hebrews from Egypt and their journey to the Promised Land Canaan. Stories like that of Samson and Delilah, David and Goliath and the story of prophets such as Jeremiah, Joseph, Jacob, Daniel, Job and Samuel are also being taught under this curriculum.

The Curriculum of the New Testament is all about the story of the life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. It starts from the birth of John the Baptist, the birth of Jesus as well as his childhood. The parables that Jesus Christ taught during his time and also the miracles that he has performed are also included as lessons herein. How to live a true model Christian life is also being taught as part of this curriculum

In all, the Kids' Bible Curriculum program is an excellent way of highlighting the religious beliefs of children and leading them into Christian living. It is an indication that leaders of the Christian faith recognize the role of young people as the prospect not only of the Christian community but also the entire world.
