3 Hour Diet - Explained!

The 3 hour diet, the name really grabs your attention, but what does it mean? Do you lose weight in 3 hours? Do you just diet for 3 hours every day? How does it work? Well, keep reading and you will learn the basics of Jorge Cruise's 3 hour diet!

What the name of the diet means is you are allowed to eat every three hours. According to Mr. Cruise, eating often created fuel for your metabolism. If your metabolism is running at full potential you will burn more calories and more fat. This all translates into weight loss, and that is the result we want! But it isn't just about fueling your metabolism it is about the quality of the fuel. You wouldn't put regular fuel into a premium race care would you? Good nutrition is the key.

When you first think about eating every three hours it seems like a bit much. But when you figure how many hours you are awake in a day, plus figure in snacks you are not eating a full meal every three hours. Basically you will still eat three meals a day with snacks in between. However, to achieve results you will need to follow a set calorie limit for each meal and snack.

How the Plan Works:

There is a calorie limit for each meal in the 3 Hour Diet Plan. You are supposed to stay under 400 calories for each meal, and each snack should not exceed 100 calories. If you weigh less than 200 pounds when you start the diet, you can add an additional 50 calorie snack at night.

The beauty of this plan is that there are really no foods that are forbidden, you just need to follow the calorie limits. However, you will soon find that you will be able to eat more food if you choose from fresh fruits and vegetables, whole grains and other foods that are naturally low in calories. Mr. Cruise recommends that you choose foods from all the food groups for maximum nutrition. You need protein, fat, carbohydrates and low fat dairy in your diet. You can get these from eating lean meats, poultry, fish, nuts, yogurt, beans, whole grains, and beneficial oils such as flaxseed and olive. Flaxseed is also good to lower cholesterol and benefits heart health.

Portion control is stressed in this diet, by tracking your portion size and calories you will be less tempted to overeat. You will want to measure your portions to make sure you are staying within the recommended calories for each meal and snack.

This program offers incentives as you progress on track. If you are losing weight, the program allows you to add 100 calories to your snack allowance weekly. If your weight loss has stalled, you will need to decrease your snack allowance by 100 calories.

Although exercise is not really a part of this program, any type of movement can add to your weight loss. Exercise will help boost your metabolism and increase your calorie burning. It is easy to find ways to incorporate little bits of exercise into your life. Taking the stairs, parking further away are small things you can do to increase your fitness time.

The 3 Hour Diet is built on basic principles of portion and calorie control and keeping the body properly fueled. It is a diet that can get you on track for losing excess weight.
