Celebrating Halloween At Walt Disney World

One of the best times to visit the Walt Disney World Resort in Florida is during the Halloween Holiday season. If this is your favourite holiday then you're in for a treat.

1. Trick or Treat with Mickey at his Not So Scary Halloween Party

Mickey's Not so Scary Halloween parties run on select nights during late September and October. The party is hosted at the Magic Kingdom and entrance is limited to guests who have purchased tickets to the event.

The party starts at 7pm and runs until the early hours of the morning. Guests are invited to trick and treat for candy and then enjoy the Boo to You parade and an awesome HalloWishes fireworks spectacular.

Most rides and attractions remain open for the party and wait times are short due to the limited number of guests. There are also several meet and greet locations where you can meet your favourite Disney characters dressed up in their Halloween attire.

If you've always looked on in envy as the little ones run around the parks in their princess and Buzz Lightyear costumes then this Halloween party is the perfect time for you to don your costume. Most families go all out to get dressed up for the party and it's a great time to see moms dressed as princesses and dads as Buzz Lightyear.

Make sure you book tickets in advance, especially if you want to attend the party on Halloween night.

2. Take a haunted carriage ride, if you're brave enough

Guests are invited to join the Halloween fun at Fort Wilderness by taking a Haunted Carriage ride through the forests. The rides run during the month of October and you don't need to be a guest at the resort to take part in this fun activity.

3. Go trick or treating at Downtown Disney

Youngsters in your party will have a blast at the Halloween activities hosted over at Downtown Disney. Several of the stores take part in a trick or treating trail and there's also a family-friendly pumpkin patch. The activities are only offered on Halloween night itself and run from about 5pm through to 9pm.

4. Enjoy spooky activities at your Resort hotel

You don't have to stray very far on Halloween to take part in the festivities. Most of the resort hotels have family friendly activities such as pumpkin carving, trick or treating and even poolside Halloween movies. To find out what's happening at your hotel ask at the Front Desk.
