What To Consider When Taking Out Pub Insurance

If you are the owner of a public house, nightclub or hotel, you will be fully aware of how important it is to have a good insurance policy. After all, a lot of money will be kept on your premises and there will also be a number of very valuable items to think about; your stock alone will add up to a great deal of money. If you need to make a claim and your pub insurance policy proves to be inadequate then it can have some pretty dire consequences for your business.

People are very susceptible to advertising and there is a big push at present for everyone to use price comparison websites. This is all well and good but it is not always the best way of finding the most comprehensive policies. You may save yourself a lot of money by taking out your insurance with a cheaper company, but the reduction in price can be an indication of inferior cover... Taking out insurance online is a great idea, but you are often far better off looking at the websites of actual companies.

If you do have to make a claim, then the last thing you need is for your insurer to quibble over its validity. Your main priority will be to get your business back to normal and you will not want the additional hassle of dealing with an awkward insurance company. However, this can usually be avoided by choosing the most comprehensive policy. It may cost you more, but it can save you a great deal of money if you do need to make a claim.

Anyone looking for pub insurance is advised to take out a policy that offers all risk cover for your business. All manner of situations can come about and it is vital that you are prepared for just about any eventuality. Most all risk policies will offer you protection for a large number of things, such as

Any damage caused by storms or floods.

Fire, lightning, explosion or earthquake.

Riot and civil commotion (always a good idea to be covered for this where alcohol is on sale).

The escape of water.

Impact.

Malicious damage (and it is a sad fact that there are plenty of vandals around these days).

The leakage of beer or any other beverages (obviously a prime concern).

The leakage of oil from your heating system.

Accidental damage.

Theft by forcible and violent entry (and exit).

Full theft (always a big worry).

As you can see, an all risks policy will cover you for a good many different things. Life can throw up all kinds of surprises and it is always best to take out insurance which gives you a maximum amount of protection. We all like to save money whenever we can, but it is sometimes just not worth the risk. By taking out a really comprehensive insurance policy you will have far greater peace of mind; and you just cannot put a price on that.
