The Contourhd Makes Everyone A Star

The ContourHD is your perfect fit if you are a backyard daredevil or one that would like the opportunity to record your adrenaline-filled adventures. You will now be able to make and edit your own point-of-view videos. Then it is easy to post them online to share with friends, and the world.

These camcorders are made of sturdy, armored aluminum frames built to withstand your most trying challenges. Since they are impact resistant and sealed against dust, mud, snow, and water resistant, they can be used with assurance in extreme conditions with confidence. They will operate in temperature ranges from 5F to 104 degrees. With a new firmware download available, you will be able to record in even colder temperatures.

They are water resistant, not rated as 'waterproof', so submerging the equipment is not recommended. To see evidence regarding the versatility and durability of these camcorders, you can go to any number of video sites and see some of the crashes these cameras have survived. If you are a little squeamish, you might just stick with some of the environments these have been used to record in. You will have access to the company website to upload your videos for posterity with your purchase.

The ease of use is impressive. On the back of the unit you will find the power button. There are two lights that indicate the recording time and battery life. To make it a sure thing to get the proper prospective, since there is no room for a display, there are two laser lights. When they are aligned horizontally, you are good to go.

A slider at the top will start and stop the recording. It is easy enough to activate even if wearing gloves. You can set it so the beeps that indicate when it is on and off will be silent.

The single-focus lens records in 135 degrees in wide-screen HD at 1280 x 720 pixels at 30 fps (frames per second). In the SD (standard definition) option, it records in a 90 degree viewing angle at 60 fps. This would be preferred for fast action activities.

The rechargeable battery should work for about four hours. It can be charged with the included USB cable and your computer, or you can purchase optional chargers. The built-in microphone is configurable, but is reported to start having some wind distortion above 30 mph. There is a 2 GB memory card included and you can upgrade to a 16 GB card. Each GB should record about 30 minutes in HD, and twice that in fast action SD mode.

These are the lightest camcorders at only 4 ounces. They are four inches long, sit two inches high and are one and one-half inches wide. This makes them highly adaptable to several mounting options with their patent-pending "Trail Mounts 'slide and lock' system." Since it is small enough to fit in the palm of your hand, it will not impair your activity in the least bit.

The ContourHD is able to be mounted comfortably on goggles, helmets, handlebars, windshields or most tripods. With the included goggle strap attachment and the flat disk for helmets, along with the piece that slides into either side of the camera, you are ready for most outdoor activities. With one of these great camcorders, your adventures are just waiting to be documented and immortalized.
