Travel to Victoria Falls

Victoria Falls lie in between Zambia and Zimbabwe in Southern Africa.falls are part of two national parks, Mosi-oa-Tunya National Park in Zambia and Victoria Falls National Park in Zimbabwe.

Victoria Falls are just over 1 mile wide (1.7 km) and 355 feet (108 m)high. During the wet season over 500 million liters (19 million cubicfeet) of water plummets over the edge into the Zambezi River. Thisincredible amount of water generates a huge amount of spray which shoots 1000 feet into the sky and can be seen 30 miles away, hence the

name Mosi-oa-Tunya (Smoke that thunders).

50 km (30 miles) away.

During the flood season, however, it is impossible to see the foot of thefalls and most of its face, and the walks along the cliff opposite itare in a constant shower and shrouded in mist. Close to the edge of thecliff, spray shoots upward like inverted rain, especially at Zambia's

Knife-Edge Bridge.

A number of activities can also be undertaken. The 'Flight of Angels'provides a fabulous vista of the falls, the upstream river and its manyislands and for the more adventurous there is microlighting with stunning views of the Fall.

Rafting the wild rapids below the Falls is a very popular adventure. Visitorscan also kayak, canoe, fish, go on guided walking safaris, ride onhorseback and lunch on Livingstone's Island.
