Time For A Holiday - Top Weekend Getaways

If it's about time for a holiday, but you can't afford to go away for a long time (or just can't get the time off work) you should consider a weekend getaway. Whether you go away on your own, for some peace and solitude, or with friends or family, you can come back to work feeling refreshed and revitalised. There are so many different locations to choose from, and so many different types of accommodation, that deciding where you're going to go is often half the fun! Wherever you decide to go, don't forget to check for any special offers on accommodation in the local area, and bear in mind that you can usually get some great money off with travel voucher codes or holiday vouchers from any promotional vouchers site. Here is a list of some of the places you might consider visiting, if you decide you'd like some time off this year:

The Cotswolds

The Cotswolds - near the border between England and Wales - are a great place to go for a walking holiday. Find a village that no one knows how to get to, with only one pub and no shops for five miles, and take a good book. A picturesque little cottage could be the ideal place to forget your worries.

France

Why not visit the wine country? And by wine country, I don't just mean France generally - go and see Bordeaux! It really doesn't matter where you go in France, except that the south is warmer. Trust us - no one knows how to relax like the French do.

Derbyshire

This is the peak district! Arguably the most beautiful place in the whole of the UK. Many people come to the sudden realisation at some point in their lives that they have never really seen Britain, or explored what it has to offer. If this sounds like you, I highly recommend that you take a trip to the village of Bakewell. It's a simple village, in the heart of the Derbyshire hills, with some of the most beautiful walks you are ever likely to go on. And they literally do bake well - try the puddings!

Cwm Brefi

Where on earth is Cwm Brefi, I hear you ask. Perhaps you've never heard of it. That's sort of the point. Why not plan a getaway to a place so remote that you can't possible think of work. The ultimate getaway, where no one will ever find you. Cwm Brefi, by the way, was only hooked up with mains electricity in 2003.

There are literally millions of great places to go away for a weekend break. Have a look around online to find a nice cottage, or a holiday park. Wherever you decide to go, don't forget that you can usually get some great money off with travel voucher codes or holiday vouchers from any promotional vouchers site. If you work hard, you deserve a holiday once in a while. Go away and have fun!
