National Indoor Arena - Where Legends Come Alive

Inspired by best selling authors and award winning musicians, Birmingham is a proud English city to say the least. Although its prosperity at present is well known, Birmingham has seen its fare share of testing times that saw buildings demolished by raging war machines and stable social structures being torn apart by revolutions. Importantly though Birmingham was able to take these experiences in its stride and eventually overcome its demons to become the global city that it is today.

Owned by the NEC group, The National Indoor Arena has a maximum capacity of 13,000. Efficiently designed and centrally located, this structural masterpiece has seen a number of famed musicians, sportsmen, dancers and dignitaries of importance gracing its stage with their presence. Known as one of the biggest names when it comes to hosting sporting or entertainment events in Europe, the National Indoor Arena is the venue where the European Indoor Athletics Meet was held in March 2007. Since the grand opening in 1991, the National Indoor Arena has played host to a multitude of sports events from badminton to indoor rowing.

Be it a full blown rock concert, a business conference or an art exhibition, the National Indoor Arena is equipped with an armory of facilities to accommodate any function. While world famous musicians such as Oasis, Coldplay and Destinys Child have performed in front of enthusiastic audiences at this venue, the charming show by the great Sir Cliff Richards is quite regular on this stage.

The Merry Hill Centre is another popular tourist destination in Birmingham where shoppers from around the world get a taste of the amazing diversity of an English shopping complex. Classy restaurants and tourist friendly pubs are quite frequent in the city and pedestrian friendly streets offer visitors the chance of exploring Birmingham freely and easily.

Travelers looking for a modern Dudley hotel overlooking the Canal Marina can find Copthorne Hotel Merry Hill Dudley as one of the best places to rest up their feet in a comfortable setting.
