subject: Halloween Indian Costumes [print this page] I have had quite a few occasions on which people had asked me to advise them about their selection of costumes and my response is always "Indian or Native American costumes." And then when they ask "why" I tell them that not only are Indian costumes colorful and fun but they are also a way of honoring the native nations who occupied the vast majority of the Americas. And why should I care about that? Because it is the same Americas where I am from.
Unlike many other costumes, Indian or Native American costumes are multipurpose as they are perfectly appropriate for Halloween parties and trick or treating, 4th of July which is the American Independence Day, U.S. and Canadian Thanksgiving, Columbus Day, the Mardi Gras carnival, theme parties, masquerade balls, stage plays and so on. Furthermore, because the costume industry has been diligent about creating a large variety of Indian and Native American costumes, they are available for everyone in the family - regular and plus size adult men, sexy women, teen kids, toddler children, infant boys and girls.
But let us take a few moments to look at Indians or Native Americans and learn who they were way back when and who they are today.
So, Indians or Native American are the indigenous people of the Americas and they consist of very many distinctly different tribes, nations, and ethnic groups. As a matter of fact the list is so long that it is impossible to include within the confines of this small article.
I will end my article the same way I have started it: by suggesting that you and everyone else should opt to wear an Indian or Native American costume to any dress up event. But beyond that, I will also suggest that you and they take a look at what is available at IndianCostume.org. Why? Because that is where the largest selection of high quality and low priced products are at your disposal.
