Spanish is the second largest used language in the world. Most people these days are have understood the benefits of having to speak Spanish. Having a second language is an advantage on your part. There are various institutions that have studied and established the link of cognitive and personal development in learning a second language. Studies have prevailed that learning a second language can delay dementia on elders.

Most parents have thought that having their children learn a second language would make the children confused. But studies have shown that children who are learning a second language would develop stronger minds.

Cornell Language Acquisition Lab's (CLAL) have firmly assured everyone that there are no negative effects on a child who is learning a second language. Children who are bilingual are more attentive and focused compare with monolingual children. Ellen Bialystok have studied a four year old chills and a five year old child who are bilingual who have showed better understanding of symbolic representation in print than a monolingual child. Younger children are more likely to learn faster and acquire a second language considering their age. They tend to learn faster compared with adults.

The College Entrance Examination Board prevails that teenagers who have knowledge of foreign language have shown higher mean scores for their college applications. Those who have knowledge of four or more years of another language get higher scores on the verbal section of the Scholastic Aptitude Test (S.A.T.). Children developed better listening skills considering it is very essential when learning how to pronounce the language properly.

It is best to consult an expert before you start teaching your child a second language. Spanish can be taught at home in a simple manner but with close monitoring from a teacher especially when the child is already going to school. Teachers can provide guidelines on how to teach your child properly. They can even provide you important tools and materials where you can use for your children's advantage.

Read them the books constantly. It would be better if the books you read to them are associated with pictures where they could easily understand. You can read English and Spanish stories to your child in an alternative manner every night.

Children easily get bored in learning a second language. So make the whole learning process more fun and enjoyable. You can have games especially when it comes to translating some important words that are very basic. Give the learning process more life and spirit that makes your child enthusiastic all the time.

Your child will be more sensitive to other cultures when they get to learn Spanish. Start by introducing to them some Spanish music and dances that would make them love the language even more. You can make a Spanish meal for them at home or you can take them out on a Spanish restaurant that would draw them more to learn Spanish.
