Albrooks.com: Al Brooks Advice--beware Of Fake Ticket Brokers And Online Ticket Scalpers

Recently a Craigslist customer learned the hard way that the tickets they purchased to a game were fake. Luckily for them, they suspected that there might be some fraud going on and took a picture of the mans license, leading to a police arrest of that fraudulent ticket broker for forged tickets.

This customer wasnt the first one who suffered due to not knowing the difference between a real ticket and a fake one, let alone a legitimate ticket broker and a thief.

Some victims of ticket fraud report their incidents to police, and some never come forward. Police believe that there are many more victims out there who never report cases like this.

The only way you can be sure your tickets are real is if you either buy them direct from the venue, or from a legitimate, reputable ticket broker, who has been in business a long time. Yet, the problem many people face in trying to buy direct from the venue is that the venue sells out too quickly. And this is one of the reasons people seek tickets elsewhere.

Bogus tickets are the way of the fraudulent ticket broker, who sells tickets that cant be used.

With a reputable ticket broker, they have an established network of reliable sources that they have relationships with, and can get tickets to sold-out concerts, theatre shows or games. These ticket brokers are often season ticket buyers themselves or buy from season ticket holders who have spare tickets. They also make arrangements with the main ticket outlets and venues to buy up good seats as soon as they go on sale.

Tips to find the right ticket broker:

Check out the ticket broker. Take a look at their website and how long they have been in business. A reputable broker has a network of ticket sources to get hard-to-get or sold-out events, and that is why it is important that a ticket broker has been around for a number of years.

Contact the Better Business Bureau. Reputation is everything to the ticket broker and it is not possible to stay in business long if the company has a bad reputation.

Read customer reviews. A ticket brokers customers leave word-of-mouth recommendations.

When it comes to getting tickets to an event, it is better to act preventively. Find a ticket broker you can trust and bookmark their site on your computer.
