Relax In Bath Accomodation

The Roman city of Bath is one of the most relaxing places in England to visit, with natural hot springs to nourish body and soul and stunning architecture you can be treated like Roman royalty at the right Bath accommodation.

Bath is the only city in England that has natural hot water springs and this shaped the city from Roman times when Romans discovered the relaxing qualities of these springs and built their famous Spa Baths from which the city took its name. Today you can visit these magnificent baths built by the Romans and enjoy the natural waters day or night. With such a strong tourist attraction it is no wonder many Bath accommodations such as hotels have built their own day spas and also offer vouchers for spa days. It seems most people who visit Bath look forward to a nice relaxing spa to relax and rejuvenate.

Although it was the Romans who first built the impressive baths we see today in the city, as it was them who built the Aquae Sulis for rest and relaxation, but there is evidence that people used the springs as early as 8,000 years BC, but they probably thought the mysterious steam coming from the hot springs was frightening. Some tales suggest the springs were used for healing and even cured leprosy but there is no real evidence. However people with faith still consider Bath to be a good place to heal and recover.

Although known for relaxation, Bath offers more than just the Spas, it has an exciting nightlife with bars, clubs and restaurants and even activities throughout the evening. Bath has three theatres for you to enjoy traditional entertainment, the Theatre Royal which has top quality productions of comedy, drama and dance all year round and occasional Sunday shows. Also the Ustinov Theatre which produces more cutting edge pieces and for families and children there is the Egg Theatre.

If you are the sort of person that likes to be scared then you can choose from a number of tours, such as the Bizarre Bath which has a comic twist or Bath's very own Ghost walk where you walk through the ancient city listen to real stories of murders, wars, tragedies and dramas from the historical city.

Not to take themselves too seriously Bath also has a lot of Comedy events, festivals and shows; the most famous is the annual Bath Comedy Festival which starts on April Fools day each year but this is so popular you will need to book your Bath accommodation well in advance to secure a room.

With so much to offer with history, entertainment, drama, nightlife and of course world renowned spas you will need a few days in Bath to see just a fraction of what Bath has to offer.
