Secrets Revealed: How To Beat The Heat At Disney World This Summer

When the schools are out for summer one of the top destinations that families choose to head for is the Walt Disney World Resort in Florida. If you have a trip of your own planned this summer then you'll want to keep reading for some top tips on how to beat both the heat and the crowds to make sure that your family has a vacation to remember.

1. Beat the heat

Summer months in Florida can see the thermometer up in the 90s during the day, add in the humidity and you're definitely going to be getting hot and sweaty.

The good news is that many of the attractions across the four Walt Disney World themeparks are indoors and have air conditioning giving you a welcome break from the heat.

To keep everyone cool and happy you should plan to take a break in the afternoon when the sun is at its hottest. Slip on a Tshirt and slop on some sun cream and then head over to one of Disney's two waterparks to cool off. With tube and body slides and a wave pool there is plenty to do to keep kids of all ages happy. If relaxation is more your style then just grab yourself a sun bed and relax on the beach by the wave pool instead.

The Resort hotels all have pools if you'd prefer to hang out closer to home, just perfect if you'd like to take an afternoon nap too.

Don't forget that water is also key for keeping you all hydrated too. Carry a bottle of water with you in the parks and make sure you drink from it throughout the day. Try to steer clear of coffee and caffeinated soda drinks as they can actually dehydrate you. Treat your little ones to some fun water bottles decorated with their favourite characters to encourage them to drink their share of water too.

2. Beat the crowds

Since many families have to wait until the kids are out of school to head to Disney World the summer months are also extremely crowded. While the parks are open for longer during the day the sheer number of people can make it difficult to see and do everything you want to. Long lines form for the most popular attractions and spending an hour or more in a line is not fun in the heat.

The best way to beat the crowds is to plan your vacation. You need to know exactly which attractions and shows your family wants to experience and make a plan so that you increase your chances of seeing everything on your list.
