Tour Rajasthan To Enjoy Colorful Fair And Festivals

The desert land of Rajasthan host so many colorful fairs and festivals. Every season starts with a fair or festivals. Besides, usual Hindu and Muslim festival, Rajasthan celebrate a number of other festival owing to a complete different nature from rest of the India. The Rajasthani festivals remains full with the local favor and taste and successfully represent the custom and tradition of the land.

Some of the popular Rajasthan Festivals celebrated with great pomp and show are:

Camel Festival in Bikaner:

Camel festival is celebrated in Bikaner in the month of January. The camels are made to take bath and are decorated with jewels. The festival is celebrated with joyous music, rhythm and folk dance. Camel races and camel dances are very enchanting feature of this festival. This is a time of full fun in the city.

Desert festival:

It is celebrated in the month of February in Jaisalmer. It is one of the most popular and significant festival of Rajasthan. It lasts for three days in mid of Thar Desert. A number of Rajasthani dances like Ghoomer, Gangaur, Moria, Chari, etc are performed during the festival. Camel dance and camel race are also organized.

Elephant festival:

This festival is celebrated in Jaipur, the capital city of Rajasthan around Holi. The trunks and tusks of elephants are decorated. There took processions of elephants, camels and horses. This is followed by folk dance and music. Lord Ganesha is worshipped in this festival.

Gangaur festival:

This is important local festival of Rajasthan. It is celebrated in whole Rajasthan during spring season. Gauri (Parvati) is worshipped in the festival. It is celebrated for 18 days. Married women pray long life for their husbands and unmarried girls worship and wish for getting a right partner. It is said that the heartily wish get fulfilled.

Mewar festival:

It is celebrated in Mewar to welcome spring. One can get an overview of Rajasthani culture. Songs, dances, processions and fireworks are the significance and highlights of the festival.
