Never Use Hair Straightener In Children Hair

Flat Irons are largely being used today to acquire a professional salon quality styling from the comfort of the home itself. With the large number of parents using this hot tool for hair straightening, it is posing immense danger for their young children due to the accidental burns that it produces. Since owning a straightener has skipped the need for visiting the hair salons for styling the hair, parents use them at home and leave them unattended after use. Such hot tool when come in contact with their kids cause minor to serious burns. But, you need not have to stop using a styling rod, instead make it a habit of keeping your hot iron at safe places where your children cannot access it easily after use.

When you are using it on the hair of your children, you have to be highly careful as the heat setting should be appropriate for the hair type, or else it would burn their hair. Never, allow your child to do the task themselves. It should never come in contact with the skin of the children as well. The hair stylers remain hot even minutes after being plugged out. So, you have to be careful in placing it at places that doesnt come in contact with your curious children. It should also be kept in mind that you should not keep it in places of access of your children even if you are not using it as your curious children can plug it and then induce themselves with burns. So, if you can, try to keep it out of sight of your children if you wish to avoid such accidents.

Proper application is very essential for the safety of your childrens hair. You should take proper precaution by applying heat protecting cream or sprays of their hair before styling. Since the tender skin of your kids is even thinner than the adults, it can increase the intensity of burns as compared to adults. Some people who have thick and curly hair often set the temperature to the highest. In such a case, the iron can remain hot for about eight minutes after plugging it out. Also, never use it too close to their hair root or scalp. Always use lowest temperature setting.
