Enjoy Your Austrian Holiday From A Vienna Hotel

Vienna is a very famous city, and the capital of the Republic of Austria. Vienna is actually the English name of the city, as the official name is Wien. As well as being a popular cultural destination, Vienna is also a good choice for a romantic city break. The city is beautiful, and has a huge amount of historical and cultural tourist attractions for you to see, as well as lots of romantic spots, cafes, restaurants, museums and shops to explore. To appreciate the full experience, we recommend you try a grand Vienna Hotel. Treat your partner to a first class room with a traditional decor including marble bathrooms, white and gold furnishings and stunning views of the city and attractions such as the theatres and Opera House.

Vienna is also a popular movie location; the first that springs to mind is the James Bond classic "The Living Daylights" starring Timothy Dalton, and more recently the new Bond film "Quantum of Solace" starring Daniel Craig. The beautiful sites make it an excellent location for films, and as a result it has made a number of cameos in a huge number of films. It is also ideal for period dramas as the city is so historically preserved. Periodic films include Amadeus, a film about the life of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, a very famous and prolific composer.

Mozart was just one of many composers that lived in Vienna, and this part of the musical pedigree associated with Vienna. There are lots of musical events to see in the evenings at the Opera House and theatres all around Vienna. Many classical concerts, operas and ballets play at well known venues, but make sure that you book tickets in advance as these are a big tourist attraction.

During the day, you must visit a Viennese Cafe and try the fresh coffees accompanied by a bountiful selection of cakes and deserts. Hot strudels, pancakes (called Palatschinken) and Sachertorte are divine choices that must be tried. In the evening there are lots of restaurants to choose from, and most will serve traditional popular Austrian dishes including the Wiener Shinitzel and Beef Goulash. These can be washed down with some traditional Austrian white wine spritzers or Austrian Beers.
