The White Bass and Hybrid Striper fishing in general gets a little erratic through first two 2 or 3 weeks of June. In general, I'd continue to call it Very Good, but we will have 2 or 3 days that you will genuinely have to bear down and search really hard for keeper sized fish. The small school fish will quickly show up many mornings and then the top water action increases on essentially a day-to-day time frame. Various knowledgeable fishermen maintain the first hour or so of daylight is a good time to look for the herons out hunting for breakfast.. Tie on the Clear Tiny Torpedo or Blue/Chrome Rat-L-Trap and you are in business.
(Here's an excerpt from a June fishing prediction pertaining to the effect of this Full Moon on the bite. I just thought you could possibly believe it is interesting and an indication of what to be expecting!) We have fished a few day trips in the Full Moon cycle of June 5th-12th. We've found it literally unreal how great the fishing can be in the middle part of the day and early afternoon. We on occasion overlook the way Mother Nature, the Solunar Tables and Fish (and really all wild animals) are tied with each other. On two mid-day trips during the week of June 8th this past year many of the local fishermen snagged and let go approximately 200 White Bass per trip over the hours of 1PM-5PM. Almost all of the fish were caught on Slabs in water 25'-35' deep and pretty much in the same places we failed to have any luck catching fish on morning trips that same day! For a added bonus , we had a lot of Hybrid Stripers around 6 lb. plus on the trips!
Because the summer trend of deep water, timber, brush piles and bridge columns go into effect crappie fishing should start up getting greater and better . You should be fishing water at the 20'-25' depths, but fish will most likely be suspended shallow early morning and deeper later on in the day. Several of people experienced luck using small minnows or jigs to catch some of the these appetizing fish!
Don't forget, Father's Day occurs on June 20th 2010. I am certain Dad would be pleased about a Gift Certificate for that Fishing Trip. You may also do a little subtle hinting and find out whatever used related equipment he'd like and order it for him. Talk about a big surprise! I assure definitely appreciate it over yet another new tie!
Now, lastly, you shouldn't neglect the kids. Now that they are out of school (Or approaching that date in certain regions of the region.) this could be a great time show them or reintroduce all of them to the wonders of fishing. and after a little internet browsing, you will discover fishing spots near where you would like to getaway. It will not burst your budget and you may equip your kids with pre-owned Shimano fishing reelsas well as a nice used saltwater fly fishing rod. Summer is an excellent Time to see the Kids on the Lake! Get out early, catch a number of fish and take pleasure in some time with each other! They will be grown before you expect it. Don't miss out on the dwindling chances of fishing along with your kids.
