Caribbean Destinations

The reason for their move was because there were supposedly better opportunities in terms of career as well as diversity and travel, etc. Over three decades and two children later, my mother now holds dual citizenship in both the United States as well as the island in the Caribbean where she's from.

While she doesn't fly back home quite as often as she would like (due to how expensive flights are nowadays), it is still somewhat surprising to see how popular her country as well as other countries in the Caribbean have become to American tourists as well as other international travelers abroad. Because of its beautiful surroundings and miles of untouched natural beauty in the form of pristine beaches and wildlife, the Caribbean is one of the top (if not the top) destinations to vacation in the world. Besides this, recent trends have indicated that many retirees are actually beginning to call the Caribbean 'home' as they look for a place that is more conducive to relaxing.

One of the other major appeals of the Caribbean is the weather. Sure, hurricanes may be a problem during certain times of the year, but this is something that no one is exactly 'immune' to. Rather, most people tend to focus on the sheer beauty and tranquility that the Caribbean offers, and many young couples who are just married, looking to renew vows or are simply looking to get away to have some time to themselves, look upon the Caribbean as the perfect escape from the busy hustle and bustle lifestyles that so many of us lead. Some of the countries that are prominently featured when thinking of or considering the Caribbean include (but are certainly not limited to) the following: Antigua, Bermuda, Jamaica, U.S. Virgin Islands, Puerto Rico, Grenada, Trinidad and Tobago, Dominican Republic, etc.

Whether it is your first time traveling overseas or not, prices for flights to any one of the countries in the Caribbean are usually pretty pricey (though this may vary according to the season that you are in). For instance, you may find that the prices for flights to the Caribbean are more expensive during the winter time because this is a prime time during the year when people are looking to escape the cold weather. However, this does not mean that just because the summer time is warm that less people travel to the Caribbean. In fact, it is quite the opposite. Keep in mind that during the summer months, this is still a popular time when most full-time working adults have vacation. Also, it is a time of the year when the vast majority of children have off from school.

In addition to flying, lots of people opt to take cruise ships or vacation cruise liners that depart from various points along the eastern coast of the United States. Typically, a cruise like this will last anywhere from 3 days or more depending on the number of stops that it makes as well as where it is departing from.
