Getting out on the water and enjoying nature and the outdoors is what boating is all about, but that's only part of the enjoyment you can get. There are many ways to have tons of fun while boating, and being on the lake is a great way to get closer to your friends and family as well!
Obviously boating is a lot of fun. Sharing your love of boating with your family and friends increases the fun, helps to spread the sport, and overall makes for a great day! Sailing on a pontoon boat, or a party barge is an awesome way to share your love of boating. Invite your friends and have a party on the lake! They will love it, and you will feel great about sharing your love of boating with people you care about.
For smaller groups, a day of waterskiing or wakeboarding is a great way to spend time with friends. For those who don't know how to ski or just want something easier to do, everybody loves tubing! Tubing is a great activity for groups of family and friends with younger kids.
One of the greatest pleasures of boating is that it gives you the chance to spend time with your family. Always be willing to teach others in your group about what you are doing if they ask. It will lead to more boating enjoyment for all of you. Pointing out interesting things along the shore, telling your guests local stories and trivia are also a lot of fun and add to everyone's enjoyment. The more fun your family and friends have, the more fin you have too!
Also, don't be afraid to slow down once in a while and take in your surroundings. There is a lot more to boating than going fast all the time. A quiet, leisurely glide across the lake can do wonders for everyone! Watching nature, the birds, the plants, and the scenery is all part of the boating experience as well. When you do this, you will almost always see something different - wildlife you have never seen, the colors of the trees, and the like. You are really missing out on a big part of the boating experience if you don't take the time to slow down and just enjoy the world around you every now and then.
But for the times you DO want to go fast, there are plenty of things to do on your boat! Waterskiing, tubing, and wakeboarding, are always a ton of fun for you and your guests. Of course, there is always fishing as well. A cold drink, a nice comfortable seat and a fishing pole is a great way to spend the day on your boat.
Sharing the things you love about boating with people you care about serves to help you enjoy boating even more. Making others happy by taking them out boating is extremely satisfying, and it also helps grow the sport that we all love so much. Nothing beats the feeling of knowing that you made your loved ones happy, and taking them boating is one of the greatest ways to do just that!
