Addiction counselors work with the concerned individual in a personalized level of approach. Some of those who seek treatment may be given the option to do so in an outpatient manner. This means that the individual isn't confined in a facility to get treatment but will only come twice a month to participate in counselling sessions which may either be done one on one or by group. The addiction counselor will be the one to assess the patient and discusses with him the options he may take in the entire treatment process. The aim is to help the patient overcome addiction.
